Good Morning, Ministry Partner!

August 26, 2020

Be Encouraged by God's Word
On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples
    a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wines,
    of rich food filled with marrow, of well-aged wines strained clear.
And he will destroy on this mountain
    the shroud that is cast over all peoples,
    the sheet that is spread over all nations;
    he will swallow up death forever.
Then the Lord God will wipe away the tears from all faces,
    and the disgrace of his people he will take away from all the earth,
    for the Lord has spoken.
It will be said on that day,
    Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, so that he might save us.
    This is the Lord for whom we have waited;
    let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
For the hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain.

— Isaiah 25:6-10, NRSV

Wisdom from Fellow Pilgrims

Here is the mystery, the secret—one might almost say the cunning—of the deep love of God: that it is bound to draw on to itself the hatred and pain and shame and anger and bitterness and rejection of the world. But to draw all those things on to itself is precisely the means chosen from all eternity by the generous, loving God, to rid his world of the evils which have resulted from human abuse of God-given freedom.

Pray Together with Us

Blessed are You, O Lord, who has nourished me from my youth up, who gives food to all flesh. Fill our hearts with joy and gladness. that we, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work in Christ Jesus our Lord, through whom to You be glory, honor, might, majesty, and dominion, forever and ever.

Clementine
