Good Morning, Ministry Partner!

November 7, 2019

Be Encouraged by God's Word
Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! And do not keep striving for what you are to eat and what you are to drink, and do not keep worrying. For it is the nations of the world that strive after all these things, and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, strive for his[c] kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

Wisdom from Fellow Pilgrims
What does it mean to practice faith well? While our works cannot save us, our habits can strengthen our faith.

Pray Together with Us

O God, I acknowledge my utter dependence upon you. I have nothing that I have not received. By you I am sustained in nature and grace, day by day, and moment by moment. Suffer not the work of your hands to perish. Let your Spirit empty me of all that is not yours, that Christ may dwell in me and I in him.

   W. Gray Elmslie (1848-1889)

New Every Morning: a daily (M-F) encouragement resource for clergy that includes a scriptural start for the day, a thought from a brother/sister of the faith, and a prayer to enrich the service of the minister. It is an inner life component of the Soul Care ministry of the Church of the Nazarene's Clergy Development Office.
